The above show is the Master’s Graduation show, at Henry Art Gallery, Seattle, 1989.
The first wall consisted of the map of Iran, 6 pages of text that explained the Iranian ritual of New Year in Iran. Showing the symbols and their meaning.
This is followed by 3 images that show self portraits shooting the work in front of projections.
The first wall consists of 7, 20”x24” color photographs. These show the 7 symbols that are cherished in the ritual. Each has their name in Farsi written below them.
The middle wall consists of 7 photographs showing the family and hugs and kisses and the excitement of the moment of the New Year.
The last wall shows 7 color photographs continuing the theme, in relation to the Western ritual of Christmas.
